The Bucket List

The Bucket List, a movie starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, opens in theaters nationwide today. The premise of the movie got me to thinking about MY Bucket List.

When I was in high school, I made a list of all the places I wanted to see and all the things I wanted to do. I wrote that I would NEVER have children (ha!), I would be a musician performing on stage (was halfway there), and I would be rich enough to see the world (yeah, right). X, X, and X on those items. However, being a travel expert may not make me wealthy in liquid assets, but it sure has brought me riches in other ways.

I am very fortunate to be a TravelingMama, and to have taken hang-gliding lessons, jumped off of a building, traveled to a foreign land (alone!), and just made such wonderful friends all over the globe. And half the time my kiddos get to go along, too.

Gosh, now I need to make a new Bucket List. What’s on yours? Oh, and if you get a chance to see the movie, let me know how it is.

  1. What a great idea – on my Bucket List would be a solid week in Australia and New Zealand, to really get to experience them. I’d also love to know how to ski better without the massive expense of lift tickets and lessons, and to go to The Galapagos. Is that asking too much? In the meantime, I”ll settle for the luxury of mental travel during a hot, bubbly bath, with no children hammering at the door. 🙂 Anyone else?
