Spring Cleaning

One of my favorite online stores, FredaLA.com, is conducting its unique “Success Is in the Bag” handbag recycling program — which collects ‘gently owned’ handbags from across the country, donating them to women in sponsored upward mobility programs.

So far, FredaLa.com has donated more than 1,000 handbags. I think I’ll go through my closet and do a bit of spring cleaning to send a few bags their way and then order some new travel items with the merchandise-credit for donating. Woohoo! I already have some of their crazy-cool luggage tags hanging on my suitcase (Thanks, Freda!) Maybe I’ll get one of those weekender bags that all the celebrities carry.

To donate handbags: Mail new or gently used handbags with your name and email address to: FredaLA.COM (Attn: La Posada) 9903 Santa Monica Blvd #349 Beverly Hills, CA 90212. You may donate as many bags as you like; however, you will be sent a maximum of three (3) $20 merchandise-credit Gift Donation Codes per household. Gift Donation Codes will be sent via email or regular mail. Gift codes have no cash value, may not be combined with other Gift Donation Codes, free shipping or other promotions. Bags collected through the program are donated to the female residents of shelters and transitional homes, including but not limited to New Economics for Women’s transitional homes for pregnant teenage mothers, such as La Posada in Los Angeles. FredaLA.COM can not cover the cost of shipping. Please allow 4-8 weeks for processing of your donation and receipt of your Gift Donation Codes. www.FredaLA.com or (888) 987-5678.

  2. Thank you for the post, CajunMama!

Donated bags need not be designer or name brands. So long as they are new or gently worn, the ladies will be thrilled to receive them.

Thank you all for your interest. The entire FredaLA.COM staff joins me in wishing you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2008.

    Freda
