TravelingMamas.com is by families for families. This group travel blog concept was created by travel writer Shannon Hurst Lane to inspire women to get out there and explore the world — whether that means vacations with the kids, “soul-oh” trips, girlfriend getaways or romantic escapes. The blog is syndicated in national online outlets and has won numerous awards, but our overall goal is to assist consumers in making educated travel planning decisions. Traveling Mamas is on the 2009 Nielsen Power Moms list of the 50 most influential mom blogs and has been featured in national publications and on television. The Boomers (aka Robin and Kaye Hurst) are world travelers who also enjoy RV travel. Robin is a retired fire chief and Kaye is a retired drafting engineer. From culinary travel to places to explore via a Harley Davidson, this couple knows what their demographic is searching for in a travel experience. Robin still frequently travels for business, but is always looking forward to his next adventure with his wife Kaye.
Kid Correspondents
Ben – Our resident techie teen gives the skinny on games, travel gear, and attractions suitable for this hard to please age group. Don’t let his age fool you, he’s really a 45 year old man in a teen body. He’s into electronic gadgets, mini-golf, and fine dining. He’s recently taken an interest in jumping from high places and plans to pursue a career in aeronautical engineering. His life goals include attending the International Consumer Electronics Show and E3.
Lauren – Our teen fashion queen is well versed in facts of every celebrity known to mankind. Her first official press trip to Walt Disney World landed her an interview with former American Idol finalist Jason Castro. She isn’t impressed easily and takes her job as a kid correspondent serious, taking notes in her journal for future reviews so that the readers of TravelingMamas.com will plan the best vacations for their families. Check out her Florida Key’s review of Cheeca Lodge and her take on kid cruise activities onboard the Carnival Fantasy cruise. Lauren is also a teen travel correspondent for ChannelOne.com, which airs each morning at schools across the US and reaches over 6 Million students.
Baby O – Our youngest member of the TravelingMamas.com research and development team is discerning when it comes to infant toys and snacks for road trips. She enjoys chewing on toys and checking out all the samples sent to her Aunt Shannon. She also does a great job testing out car seats and strollers, letting us know when she doesn’t like a particular item of travel gear.
