Winning Wednesday: Marriott $100 Gift Card

Thanks so much to everyone who entered our $100 Marriott Gift Card Contest. Our trip to San Juan was full of interesting experiences around the area and even a few stolen moments of relaxation by the San Juan Marriott’s pool.

The many tips left in our comment section were helpful and informative, not just for a trip to Puerto Rico, but for anytime. I enjoyed Susan Lanier-Graham’s tip: When you’re traveling, make sure you pack a couple of larger plastic bags in your luggage (small trashcan size). That way, when you buy those bottles of wine (or rum in San Juan) you can tuck each one in a plastic bag before rolling them in your clothes. Then, if something happens to break, you won’t get the wine all over your clothes.

Pat Viser also had a great suggestion: I like to check with the local convention and visitors bureaus, look at the websites for the state or country and also use trip advisor for meal suggestions, especially close to your hotel. Asking friends on Twitter can also help.
