Most families visiting Southern California go there for the sun and fun.
My first trip to California was no exception. My only requirements were to step foot in the Pacific Ocean and visit one of the the theme parks. Little did I know how easy that would be from Carlsbad, California — and the delightful— Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad.
The Hilton Garden Inn, Carlsbad Beach is a “sweet spot” for families looking for a beach getaway close to the theme park action.
The Location– Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad is located right across the street from the ocean, and just minutes away from LEGOLAND California; Disneyland is an hour north, and SeaWorld San Diego is 45 minutes south. Its location can’t be beat for families looking to do several theme parks in one visit.
The Rooms– The rooms here are pretty standard, comfortable and clean. Each room has a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The self-adjusting Garden Sleep Bed guarantees a great night sleep.
The Perks– Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad ranks #3 among all Hilton Garden Inns. That says a lot about this property. The #1 perk has got to be the complimentary shuttle that is available 24/7 for drop off and pick up within 5 miles of the hotel– this includes LEGOLAND, the Flower Fields and the outlet mall. There’s also complimentary Wi-Fi (in-room & guest areas), parking, printing in the business center and coffee & tea in lobby each morning.
The staff here is extremely friendly and accommodating. We we given complimentary bottles of water and a few snacks for our day excursion to LEGOLAND. The reason? To avoid dehydration and the overpriced food and drinks– they just seem to be on top of everything.
Dining – The on-site Carlsbad Beach Bistro serves breakfast and dinner daily. I completely enjoyed my made-to-order breakfast. The great service continues in the dining area; The chef will make you just about any omelet you can imagine. I heard they even do Mickey pancakes for kids…
Add on breakfast packages are available for only $5 per day.
Additional Amenities – As if the ocean across the street wasn’t enough, there’s an outdoor heated pool & hot tub, and a complimentary indoor gym.
My weekend getaway at the Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad was beyond enjoyable. I found this specific Hilton Garden Inn to have two things going for it: The perfect location for those wanting a quiet beach vacation (yet close enough to attractions), and possibly the friendliest hotel staff that I have ever come across.
It’s a win-win for families, couples, girlfriend getaways and business travelers.

Girl you had me at buffet!
Hi there, I will be arriving in L.A Wednesday 15th June and hope to stay for a few days before heading to the east coast to see family but as yet I have not booked in anywhere. I originally was going to meet up with a friend but her family are visiting at the same time and I do not want to intrude in their special time together and am now at a loss of where to stay. I want to go to Universal Studios and see a bit of L.A so if if you could recommend a hotel or know of groups that meet to go places I would appreciate your response. Thanks
I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The room was clean. The pool/spa were great. Everything is clean. Restaturant is delicious. Great customer service. Shuttle to Legoland. Warm cookies at reception. We’ll be back.
