Visit the San Diego Zoo anytime with the Online Zoo

Little ones sometimes ask to visit the zoo right before bedtime. Depending on the child, you may have to convince them that even the animals have a bedtime.

Take a trip to the San Diego Zoo without even leaving your home. The 100-acre Zoo has a new website for kids ages 3 to 11 filled with games, crafts, and tons of info about animals. The kids.sandiegozoo.org website is easy-to-navigate and new content is added each month.

Kids can explore the site and discover fascinating facts about animal characteristics. In “Precious Pandas,” children learn that the rare black and white bears are carnivores, but they actually prefer bamboo–a plant. Kids can play an interactive game, “Safari Park Adventure” which challenges players to become a ranger and learn about conservation.

Moms looking for fun summertime activities for the kids will find instructions on making paint from plants, tissue paper butterflies, and a fuzzy Koala friend.
