Having your home broken into is a scary event. You feel violated. You feel scared. You can no longer sleep at night, worrying if the burglars are going to break in again. I know this because I’ve had my home broken into before. It’s disturbing to know that someone had been watching my house to…
Dear Baby – I know you are ticked off because you woke up from your nap and wanted your pacifier. Please just give me a few more minutes to find it somewhere in the diaper bag. The Poche Pacifier Pouch at Kiddopatamus attaches easily to any diaper bag handle. It comes in three fashionable colors…
Before 9/11, it used to be convenient to purchase a few bottles of wine at whatever destination we were visiting to bring home. We could carry it through security, assuring delicate handling of this precious cargo, knowing that the investment (no matter how large or small) would be protected until time to enjoy. Today, should we decide to…
This post brought to you by PackIt. All opinions are 100% mine. When I take a day trip or weekend road trip, I don’t always feel like packing a small ice chest for the ride. Lately I had been packing an insulated lunch box with gel packs. The last time I went to prepare a…
In my household, we have a family disaster kit always at the ready. We live in Hurricane Alley and have been through our fair share of natural (and man-made) disasters. But what if you are traveling? I keep thinking of Chris Elliott‘s post on being in Maui when the recent tsunami warnings came through and…
Emergency preparedness is a serious issue, especially with the serious winter storms hitting the US this year. Pack the makeup essentials when traveling.
To avoid packing my entire make-up bag, I make sure I have the bare essentials – Moisturizer and make up removing facial wipes. It’s much easier than packing your entire facial cleansing system since we know traveling with liquids in you carry on can be problematic at airports. Secondly, I tend to travel with a small compact with multi-color eyeshadows that can double as blush (Bobbi Brown’s Color Brick) is my favorite. Happy travels!
Ziploc bags (in case of leaks or powder breakage) and makeup palettes (to save space). They make makeup packing so much easier!
Fill up smaller travel sized bottles with all the beauty products you take on vacation – saves a lot of room!
I always make sure to keep my face moisturized if I’m traveling by air and I keep the makeup to a minimum.

make sure liquids are sealed tight!
My makeup tip is to ask the sales assistant when you buy a product to give you a couple of small empty sample pots and then fill them with things like foundation, moisturiser, when you travel to avoid packing the whole bottle.
I just try to bring the products I know I’m going to use .
Make sure you have a makeup bag for everything you need.
