A while back I was gathering review items for a “snow virgin” story, and along came a pair of waterproof GORE-TEX® hiking boots. Fortunately, I had a camping trip in the works (since the boots weren’t insulated), so I tried out the pair of New Balance GORE-TEX® Country Walker Boots. These are my thoughts about…
I’m the traveler that cannot use a rolling carryon bag. I trip people. The world is a safer place when I use a backpack. Now with all these checked back restrictions and extra fees, I’ve been on the lookout for a backpack big enough to hold all my girly items for a long weekend. The High…

Tuesday’s Presidential inauguration of Barack Obama in Washington, DC, has filled up every hotel room in DC and the surrounding area, including dorm rooms and private homes. Visitors from all over are gathering to witness this event at the…
Road trips for families don’t have to be harried or stressful. This holiday travel season already has the added stress of being on the road or in the skies during the busiest travel time of the year. Not all moms opt for electronic entertainment for kids when traveling, but this mom does! Road trips or…
In my household, we have a family disaster kit always at the ready. We live in Hurricane Alley and have been through our fair share of natural (and man-made) disasters. But what if you are traveling? I keep thinking of Chris Elliott‘s post on being in Maui when the recent tsunami warnings came through and…

Pack the makeup essentials when traveling.
To avoid packing my entire make-up bag, I make sure I have the bare essentials – Moisturizer and make up removing facial wipes. It’s much easier than packing your entire facial cleansing system since we know traveling with liquids in you carry on can be problematic at airports. Secondly, I tend to travel with a small compact with multi-color eyeshadows that can double as blush (Bobbi Brown’s Color Brick) is my favorite. Happy travels!
Ziploc bags (in case of leaks or powder breakage) and makeup palettes (to save space). They make makeup packing so much easier!
Fill up smaller travel sized bottles with all the beauty products you take on vacation – saves a lot of room!
I always make sure to keep my face moisturized if I’m traveling by air and I keep the makeup to a minimum.

make sure liquids are sealed tight!
My makeup tip is to ask the sales assistant when you buy a product to give you a couple of small empty sample pots and then fill them with things like foundation, moisturiser, when you travel to avoid packing the whole bottle.
I just try to bring the products I know I’m going to use .
Make sure you have a makeup bag for everything you need.
