Christmas decorations at the Empire State Building

My family arrived in New York City  today for a quick holiday getaway. It is the Theme Park Kid’s first time in the big city, and it has been great fun taking her on her first subway ride and watching her marvel at all the tall buildings.

No first trip to NYC is complete without a ride up to the Empire State Building’s Observation Deck, and we headed there after dark for a bird’s eye view of the bright lights, big city.

The building is lit in red and green for Christmas, but it’s also beautifully decorated for the holidays inside.

We loved looking at all the lobby windows dressed like Empire State Building snow globes.

Tomorrow, we’re headed to see some dinosaur bones at the American Museum of Natural History – the Theme Park Kid’s top priority for this trip.
