New Year’s Eve Celebration Videos from Around the Globe: Times Square, Sydney, Seoul, Taipei, and Auckland

While preparations are under way for the big ball drop in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, visitors and residents of New York City share some of their New Year’s resolutions. Hopefully they took a moment to make a wish on the Carnival Wishing Wall before the wishes are collected to add to the New Year’s Eve confetti. People are already gathering in Times Square to claim their spot to watch as the Waterford Crystal ball drops at midnight and confetti rains down upon the crowd.

It’s already the New Year on the other side of the world. In this video by The Associated Press, you can celebration fireworks in Sydney, Australia, watch the New Year announced by a bell ring in Seoul, South Korea and witness the skyline light up with glittering sparkles in Taipei, Taiwan.

In Auckland, New Zealand, fireworks lit up the night sky while revelers cheered as 2011 began.

If you’ve already celebrated the new year, get ready for an amazing 2011. For those of us in North America, many of us will watch the celebrations at home with loved ones while we remember the days of 2010. Happy New Year!
