NC Ski Resort Goes Retro for Totally 80s Ski Weekend, Feb. 24-26

Pack up your ski gear and head for the NC Mountains. Beech Mountain Resort is holding an out of this world Retro 80s Weekend. Forget about paying high prices for skiing and pay 80s pricing for the weekend of February 24 – 26.

The Town of Beech Mountain’s Totally 80’s Retro Weekend is set for Feb. 24-26. Relive the era of big hair, leg warmers and colorful ski clothes while enjoying live 80’s music, a retro ski apparel contest and weekend promotions.

We encourage folks to dig out their 80’s ski garb and head up the mountain for an enjoyable ski weekend, says Calder Smoot of the Beech Mountain Tourism Development Authority.

Live 80’s music will be heard all weekend. Also, if you would like to get in on 80’s jam, the Beech Mountain ski resort is sponsoring a Rail Jam freestyle competition at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 25.

The whole town will be joining in the fun by turning back prices with lodging and restaurants. Lodging is available at $80.80 per night, with restaurants offering $19.80 dinner specials. There will be adult ski rentals for $19.80 and youth ski rentals for $10.80. One store is even offering three bandanas for $8.80.

Grab the can of hair spray, release the big hair and let’s have a totally retro ski weekend. I will see you on the slopes.

  1. Never had any skiing experience before, this place is really nice and beautiful and looks chilling, we are planning for honeymoon tour in US by end of this year, maybe to include NC Mountains in our travel plan:)
