Don’t Cross the Line

If you’ve ever locked your keys inside your car and been stranded in the parking lot, then you can understand how it feels when someone parks in the blue lines beside my wheelchair-accessible van and I can’t get inside my vehicle.

People, like me, who use designated handicapped parking spaces get frustrated by drivers who ignore the rule and park over the blue striped lines.

Braun Ability, the makers of wheelchair-accessible vans and lifts, hopes to bring awareness to this issue with their, “Respect the Blue Spaces,” contest on their Facebook page.

BraunAbility is encouraging everyone to submit a slogan or concept that will get folks thinking twice before they block the blue. The top three entries will be selected by Braun and their Facebook fans will vote for their favorites. The winner will receive $1,000 in addition to $1,000 donation to the disability-related cause of his or her choice.

By spreading the word about this contest, you help drivers become more aware of this issue. You have until May 10, 2012 to enter the contest. Visit the BraunAbility Facebook page or follow this link:
