My family loves to check out different destinations each year, however, sometimes we come upon a place that is so much fun for a family vacation, the kids beg to return. San Antonio is one of those wonderful destinations and offers something exciting for every personality.

  1. We just took a trip to SA earlier this spring- we would certainly love to go back! We’d spend more time on Riverwalk and explore all the missions a bit more since we just ran out of time. Of course, we wouldn’t pass up another trip to Six Flags either!:)

  2. If I won a trip to SA I’d beg you to tell me where you found the Big Red Car so that we could go visit!!! Wiggles are our favorite! I’d also take the kids to the Alamo. We’d try to have dinner on the boats that float through the Riverwalk.

  3. I love San Antonio! My family has been several times and we always find something new to do each time. We always visit the Alamo and the Riverwalk. The Mexican food in San Antonio is fabulous!

  4. We have been looking for somewhere other than a trip to the beach to take our 4 and 2 yr olds. We would definetly have to go visit SeaWorld!! The kids love anything to do with the ocean and fish! (my little one just came to sit on my lap while I was on the computer and saw the pictures of the Riverwalk and said “I wanna go there Mommy”) I know I have always wanted to go to the Guinness World Record Museum so that’s a definite!

  5. Oh this would be sooo fun! My husband and I love it there, but we’ve never taken the kids!! We would definitely have to show them where Dad lived as a boy (we live in Utah now, and my hubbie would love to get back to Texas). And if the Spurs were playing we would definitely have to catch a game!!

  8. Can I choose “all of the above?” Everything sounds so fun! I had no idea San Antonio had so many fun offerings. Though I’m a thrillist so I’m not gonna lie, Six Flags sounds awesome, as does Tower Over the Americas!

  13. We have been to SA several times and still have not seen it all. We would love to go the Zoo, my son never gets tired of the Alamo and we would spend a nice evening on the Riverwalk. That would be just a day and half, we LOVE SA.

  15. San Antonio is such a beautiful city. The Riverwalk is a wonderful place to stroll with our daughter and I would really love to go to the botanical garden with her as she has already done part of the junior master gardener classes.

My daughter was born there and I would love to take her by the hospital she was born and the apartment she 1st came home to after she was born. My son never has been to San Antonio. We moved before he was born and I would love to let him experience Sea World..

  22. Well considering that we just moved here a couple of months ago from Kentucky, I still feel like a tourist in this city. I would love to check out the 4D theatre and see the skies of America with my husband and son. This would be a great family outing for us.

  24. I visited San Antonia as a teenager and have always wanted to go back. I loved the River Walk and the boats. I’d love to see the Tower of Americas, the Spanish Governor’s Palace, Seaworld, Natural Bridge Caverns (just outside of town), the Witte Museum and so much more.

  28. I have never been to Texas and what better way than to experience the state by spending it in San Antonio. The Riverwalk would definitely be in order then explore the botanical gardens to consume my senses with a wonderland of sights and smells. We also would love to explore the Six Flags park for recreation time. Sounds like a great city.

  32. Me and my wife went there about 14years ago and just loved it. The riverwalk was beautiful the time of the year we was there. And Six Flags Fiesta was the cleanest and most well taken care of theme parks we have ever been to. Shade trees everywhere and lots of places to set. We have always wanted to go back! If we did, we would hit the riverwalk and do the boat tours again and grab some good grub while we was there! Then we would do the Alamo, some more grub then shopping( gotto throw that in for the wife and daughter). Then some of the stuff we just didnt have time for last time.

  33. Ahhhh San Antonio….A little piece of Heaven right here in Texas.And such a short drive for frequent mini vacations from Houston.
    San Antonio has everything to offer. Beautiful Hill Country scenery. Camping,hiking,toobing. Great shopping and the best restaurants around.
    Right smack in the middle of all of Texas History, and enchanting culture.
    Two of the best amusement parks around,not to mention the World Champion San Antonio Spurs.
    There is so much to do in San Antonio…we go several times a year,and try to take it all in!

  34. We would spend at least 1 whole day turing the River Walk! Look at all the sites, see the stores and restaurants and take the boat tour. It would be so fun!!

  35. May 17th will mark seven years that my husband and I have been married. We love San Antonio soooo much that we decided to visit for our honeymoon. Seven years and two beautiful daughters later, I would say our family would enjoy sightseeing at the Tower of the America’s, taking a lovely stroll down the Riverwalk and the Botanical Gardens, and enjoy the sun at Fiesta Texas!

  36. My husband and I went to San Antonio for our honeymoon, and have returned several times since then. We love the zoo and the gardens. The riverwalk is also nice. When the kids are along we have to do the Alamo thing and then Fiesta Texas. Of course the shopping is the greatest!!!!

  37. As native Texans, my husband and I have made many visits to San Antonio. It’s one of our favorite spots. With an 8-year-old and a 14-month old, we’d love to enjoy a summer family vacation to San Antonio to share some Texas history, heritage, food and fun with our boys. No trip to San Antonio is complete without a trip to the Alamo and dinner at Casa Rio on the Riverwalk. We’ll take the boys on a river taxi, check out the Tower of the Americas, and we’d love to squeeze in a trip to Six Flags Fiesta Texas & Sea World.

  38. Oh I love SA. It is my favorite place in the entire world. I grew up visiting often but haven’t been back in a long time 🙁 I’d take my kids to where my grandma took us – Breckenrigdge Park and Zoo. I’d take them to Sunken Garden and down the Riverwalk and over to the Alamo. Oh so many sites I’d love to share with them.

  56. My husband took our first real honeymoon after 30 years of marriage in San Antonio, Texas, when my husband had a business trip last November. I fell in love with this city and its people. I have been diagnosed with incurable Stage III3C ovarian cancer and it is my dream to visit the city again with my whole family. It is the happiest I have ever been in my love next to my wedding and the birth of my children and grandchild.

    For several years, our family went to San Antonio right before Christmas. It was a tradition. The we had to stop because we could no longer afford it.
    We stayed on the River Walk. It was so beautiful at Christmas! We enjoyed going on a boat ride on the river, visiting the Alamo and missions, eating great Mexican food, going to Fiesta Texas (Six Flags), going to the zoo, going to museums and finishing our Christmas shopping. When we would go to San Antonio in the summer we also went to Sea World. There is so much to do in San Antonio!

  61. My family has only ever gone to San Antonio for cheerleading competitions! It would be nice to explore down the river walk, visit the alamo, and most of all six flags!

  79. This is phenomenal. We’ve been wanting to take a family trip to San Antonio (which is 30 minutes away from where we live) for the longest time! We’ve heard amazing things about the Botanical Garden, and the Guiness World Records Museum sounds so much fun (along with the Enchanted Springs Ranch)! I went to the Riverwalk when I was a little girl but I don’t remember it – I know it’s lovely though! There’s tons of tourist worthy restaurants and things like that. I’ve actually never heard of the Skies Over Texas 4D Theatre Ride, but that sounds super great too. We’ve seen the Alamo but want to wait until the little ones are older so they can truly appreciate it. And of course, we’re most excited about Six Flags! We keep saying that we want to go there but we never get around to planning it out. I’ve been to the Sea World in San An and it was one of the best experiences of my life – feeding dolphins and watch the Shamu shows (while getting splashed).   95. San Antonio is the bomb! We love the Texas history, the Mexican culture, the amazing Tex-Mex food and typically take a drive to nearby Port Aransas…the Bermuda of Texas! There are few places that have cactus-covered grasslands, big city arts and culture and family attractions all blended into one. We love you, San Antonio!

  100. My Husband Bob & I will have our 48th Anniversary in June and it would be wonderful to go back to San Antonio to celebrate . It has been too many years since we have been there. We just loved traveling down on the River Walk by boat and eating at the wonderful restaurants down there. We enjoyed seeing the Missions and loved the people and the culture of the city.
