Ten Terrific Things About Toronto

On the Canadian side of Niagara Falls is the bustling city of Toronto. A mecca of glitzy buildings and trendy hipsters make this city an International destination and I loved being a part of it during a recent weekend getaway.

10 Things about Toronto

Think you’ll be visiting our northern neighbors soon?

Here are my top ten favorite things about Toronto.

  1. Dining at 360 The restaurant, at the CN Tower
Atop the largest tower in the world is a fancy – yet still family-friendly – restaurant that spins, the 360 The Restaurant. The 360 degree views of Toronto are a spectacular treat. (The mozzarella-tomato tower on the menu ain’t too bad either!)
  2. The moving sidewalk- that goes through an aquatic tunnel! – inside of Ripley’s Aquarium
Site-seeing made easy on this awesome moving sidewalk that snakes through an aquatic tunnel in The Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. Discover sea-life in a way that is truly spectacular … and dry.
  3. The Poutin Pizza at Bannock’s
Poutine – fries, cheese curds and gravy concoction – is a popular Canadian dish. Bannock takes it one step further by adding it to a house made pizza dough. All I have to say is SINFUL.
  4. The four-story water slide inside of Eaton Chelsea
Children squeal with delight when they experience this unexpected treat in the downtown Eaton Chelsea. Makes for lots of swishy-swashy-splashy fun!
  5. The view from the room balcony on the 21st floor of the Eaton Chelsea
After the kids are all worn out from the four-story slide, mom and dad get to experience a stunning view from the hotel balcony of their Eaton Chelsea room. A delightful adult treat, indeed!
  6. The Lego replica of the city of Toronto, inside of Legoland
It took a lot of Lego-engineers a long time (like 8 months!) to replicate the city of Toronto for tourists far and wide to see. Legoland Discovery Centre is really pretty darn cool.
  7. Er Shun and Da Mao, the Giant Panda’s at the Toronto Zoo
Panda lovers unite by way of Er and Da at the Toronto Zoo. These furry, fuzzy, beautiful creatures are a sight to see for anyone in your family.
  8. Taking a mobile tour of the seven zoo-geographic regions at the Toronto Zoo
After your Panda experience, you will definitely want to take a mobile tour of the Toronto Zoo. Informative guides (with often cheesy jokes) take you into non-pedestrian-friendly parts of the zoo to get an up-close experience with wild life.
  9. Taking a day trip to Niagara Falls
A short drive from Toronto is Niagara Falls, a wonder of the world! It’s a quick and easy trip from Toronto with a variety of transportation methods.
  10. Brunch buffet with live bluegrass inside the Gladstone Hotel Cafe
Laid-back, super-cool, modern and trendy West Queen’s West houses the Gladstone Hotel that serves up a live-Bluegrass brunch buffet each Sunday. The added bonus? Local artwork adorns the walls. You’ll feel like a total hipster.

No matter what your pleasure, Toronto is sure to please. From family-friendly excursions to downtown grooviness. Toronto is a fantastic getaway!
