Make sure you make a stop at Cajun Village and John Folse restaurant at his bed and breakfast. The name of the restaurant is Lafittes Landing. Also a air boat tour in the atchafalaya is a must. It is located in the Bittersweet Plantation. ENJOY!

Years ago I did a road trip across the U.S. We didn’t drive on one interstate freeway, and saw parts of the country I would have never seen. Road trips are the best way to travel. I’ll be following your trip with interest.

Hi Emily – I know I always like to follow along and definitely watch the Travel Channel religiously.

Kristy – I guess since you mentioned it, will have to include Lloyd Hall and also Arcadia to see the Bonnie and Clyde Museum.

Keith – I’m still remembering how much I enjoyed our little road trip to Amesbury. So cool. Stonehenge Brewery was definitely a highlight

Lived in Monroe for a short time about ten years ago and loved exploring NE Louisiana. Near Alexandria (16 miles south in Cheneyville), check out Loyd Hall Plantation – scenic B&B with beautiful cottages arranged around a central courtyard with beautiful pool. This place made a huge impression on — it’s this Yankee’s ideal Southern living experience. Completely unrelated but are you planning to stop by the spot where Bonnie & Clyde were gunned down in Arcadia, La? Another interesting off the beaten path site.
