Regal Princess Cruise Ship Float Out Ceremony

As you cruise during your travels, have you ever wondered about the cruise ship building process? I’ve just returned from Venice, Italy for a sneak peek of the Royal Princess, Princess Cruises first new ship to debut in over five years. While at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, sister ship Regal Princess was ready for her float out ceremony. It was an honor to attend this blessing and I will admit it was special to see a colleague, Carolyn Spencer Brown, founder of CruiseCritic.com, named Madrina (Godmother) for this particular ceremony.

Cruise Travel Reveal – The Regal Princess Cruise Ship Float Out Ceremony at Fincantieri Shipyard

Here at TravelingMamas.com we like to share our personal travel experiences, with cruise travel as one of the main categories. I personally often visit CruiseCritic.com when researching my own upcoming cruises. The community is full of information and it offers indepth reviews of almost every cruise ship on the water today. Here’s a video of the Regal Princess Float Out ceremony, a tradition in shipbuilding.

Special thanks to Princess Cruises for providing this experience. Princess Cruises is the cruise line that first introduced me to cruising in 2009 and changed my mind about this aspect of traveling. I was hosted by Princess Cruises on this cruise industry media event to experience the process of shipbuilding and go behind the scenes to share this experience with my readers and social media followers.
